GFA REVIEW ON E22
The Gozitan Football followers as from this season have another dream come true, as they now have a regular television program dedicated completely to all the matters related to football on the sister island. Gozitan football has always found it difficult to find an adequate space to promote the sport at national level and apart from the radio transmissions from the Gozitan stadia, some years ago the analysis and information was through a weekly radio program. This new possibility of a television program, which will not only expose its product through speech but also through visual contribution, is a result of long discussions and collaboration between the Gozo Football Association, Events Services and Education 22.
Discussions started with an effort to find a group of persons necessary to bring up a program of this kind. Philip Cassar was an obvious choice for filming, considering that he already films most of the football matches at the Gozo Stadium and is responsible for the official GFA website. It was as much obvious to choose Joe Bajada for the production and presentation of the program. A veteran sports journalist, Joe Bajada has a 30 year experience which includes programs related to sports in Gozo. Sports correspondent Mark Cini joined the team as an analyst during the program and to gather interviews after each match. The program is produced at the studious within the GFA headquarters and includes features of all matches played during the week, analysis of the matches, interviews, results of all football matches, fixtures, the selected team of the week and vox pops. Apart from all these items the program provides information of other sports events which take place on the island. GFA Reviews also presents features regarding local and foreign players participating in the GFA competitions, club officials, promising players, coaches, referees and supporters. The program will present from time to time special features regarding interviews with players from the past and also ‘no comment’ shots from the Gozo Stadium. Throughout the season the program intends to include features regarding the history of Gozitan football clubs and to introduce special competitions with attractive prizes related to the history of the football in Gozo. The broadcast of GFA Review is every Wednesday at 2:00pm and has a repetition every Wednesday at 08:00pm and every Sunday at 01:00pm. Another possibility to follow the program is through the official GFA web site: www.gozofootball.net . The increasing number of persons who are following the program on the GFA website is a clear indication that the program is becoming more popular and is serving as a bridge with all those emigrants who can now follow better the Gozitan football from thousand miles away. The majority of the emigrants are those who live in the United States of America, Canada, Australia and United Kingdom. This feedback gives great satisfaction since it shows that the program is linking so many people who live in different countries. GFA Review is the only television program dedicated to the football in Gozo and transmitted on E22. Therefore, all the Gozian football enthusiast are invited to make a regular appointment with GFA Review! |
