International
football will be back at the Gozo Stadium at the end of January will
a friendly match by a Gozitan selection against Ferencvaros. The
Hungarians, also known as Green Eagles, are renowned as being the
most successful football club in Hungury. Ferencvaros will be on a
training camp for the second consecutive year in Malta. During the
training camp the team will spend an afternoon in Gozo and will be
the protagonists of a friendly match scheduled at the Gozo Stadium.
This
prestigious match will see international football back at the Gozo
Stadium after a number of seasons. In previous years apart for some
friendly matches and an Intertoto match, the Gozo Stadium hosted
UEFA U/21 International matches, and matches from UEFA U/19
Tournament. The Gozo Stadium during the past years saw improvement
through the installation of floodlight and an electronic score
board. Currently the new dressing rooms and new seating for the
south stand are near completion. By the end of the season the Gozo
Football Association is also aiming to complete the reconstruction
of the VIP and Press area.
The match between the Gozo selection and Ferencvaros will
kick-off at 18:00hrs.
