immediately at the end of the Ordinary Congress today in Copenhagen , the
Executive Committee, on the proposal of president Michel Platini,
unanimously elected Dr Joe Mifsud as one of the UEFA vice-presidents for the
coming two years.
Signing of the Referees Convention
Malta has signed the UEFA Convention on Referees. MFA president Dr Joe
Mifsud and general secretary Joe Gauci were the signatories in the presence
of UEFA president Michel Platini and Patrick Fenech a member of the MFA
Referees Board
This was a red letter day for Maltese referees as it ensures that the
advances made in this sector will not only be consolidated but will also
flourish. Joining the Convention will give Maltese referees more
technological aides to continue to improve their performance both locally
and in the international sphere. Every level of the refereeing sector, from
the very junior to those at international level, will benefit from the help
provided by UEFA to those members who are accepted into the Convention.
