SK Victoria Wanderers registered a large victory over Zebbug Rovers and with the three points obtained they maintained their leadership on the table. It was an easy victory for Victoria which practically matured with three goals scored in each half. The Rovers were demoralised and never managed to produce a reaction which could have lead to a more respectable result. This was Victoria’s secnd large victory over Zebbug in the campaign.

Victoria had an excellent start and opened the score in the 1st minute through Joseph Refalo. The citizens continued to be the better side and doubled the score on the half hour from a penalty converted by Ajibade Adesina. In the 33rd minute Victoria increased the score when Zebbug’s Franco Magrin committed an own goal in an attempt to clear a cross by Ige Adesina.

The Rovers continued to find it very difficult to produce a reaction, while Victoria continued to find open space in their attack. The score became 4-0 in the 48th minute through Ige Adesina following a personal action. The Rovers reduced the deficit in the 56th minute through Basil Chibueze’s low shot that surprised goalie Marlon Mercieca. However, Ige Adesina re-established the four goal difference in the 59th minute following a personal effort. Victoria sealed the issue in the 79th minute with a goal by Ajibade Adesina to make the final score 6-1.
